What we test

We choose products based on reader questions, category gaps on the site, and our own use — never based on which brand offers the highest commission rate.

Independence from advertisers

No company can pay for a placement, a higher rating, or removal of a negative point. We do not run display advertising on review pages, so there is no incentive to inflate pageviews with clickbait rankings.

Ratings

Our rating for each product reflects testing against the others in its category at a similar price point, not an absolute scale. A 4.3 budget pick can still beat a 4.8 premium pick on value.

Updates and corrections

Reviews are re-checked periodically for continued accuracy — pricing, availability, and long-term durability. Material changes are reflected in the "Updated" date at the top of each post.
